Family Generational Sale

Texas Aviation Services/Ranger Aerospace

In May 2007, Trinity Hunt acquired a controlling interest in Texas Aviation Services ("TAS") from Carl "Woody" Woodard and his son Tim. TAS had been in the helicopter completion and overhaul business for over 36 years. Despite the company's recent growth, Woody Woodard had decided at age 76 that he would finally retire. Trinity Hunt structured the transaction to provide liquidity to Woody while his son Tim stayed on as President with continuing responsibility for the day-to-day operations of TAS.

Trinity Hunt teamed with the seasoned aerospace managers at Ranger Aerospace to assist TAS and Tim Woodard in scaling the enterprise. Since the closing of the investment, the company has won several new contracts and has acquired a rotorcraft component manufacturer, adding greater technical depth to the company. Both Woody and Tim Woodard retained an equity stake in TAS and will participate in the future success of the company.
